Fairbanks
Known as The Golden Heart of Alaska. While there are many reasons to visit Fairbanks, perhaps the number one reason people come to the city is to view the world-famous northern lights. You're used to seeing blue, grey or clear skies during the day and black skies at night.
Pan for Gold
Goldstream Dredge No. 8 is a ladder dredge operated by the Fairbanks Exploration Company from 1928 to 1959. It is located on the old Steese Highway between Fairbanks and Fox in the central part of Alaska. Starting in the 1920s, water was brought to the area through the 90-mile Davidson Ditch for gold mining.
Riverboat Discovery
Tours of the Yukon River are given by a family-run operation in business for more than 100 years.
Denali
Whether you arrive by rail, road, or air, you'll see some of the most natural landscapes in the world here. The state's interior is larger than Texas and California combined, with a population that barely tops 100,000. Your tour into the park will be a life long memory.
Talkeetna
Its artistic, outdoorsy, and creative residents cling proudly to the character of their community and their mountaineering history as the jumping-off point for climbers hoping to summit North America's tallest peak – Denali. .
Alyeska Resort Tram
All-year cable-car services to an observation deck at 2,300 ft. with views of glaciers & peaks
Seward
Start day 8 with a 7 hour whale watching tour to the base of a glacier, before boarding your cruise ship. Kenai Peninsula is accessible by road to Anchorage; it offers nature at its finest, from cobalt-blue glaciers to immense fjords. You can experience the outdoors - fish, hike, and even catch a glimpse of the northern lights. Don't forget your camera.
Hubbard Glacier
Your first day of your cruise will visit Hubbard Glacier. It takes about 400 years for ice to traverse the length of the glacier, meaning that the ice at the foot of the glacier is about 400 years old. The glacier routinely calves off icebergs the size of a ten-story building. Where the glacier meets the bay, most of the ice is below the waterline, and newly calved icebergs can shoot up quite dramatically, so that ships must keep their distance from the edge of the glacier in Disenchantment Bay.
Juneau
Starting in mid-May, this stunning ocean-side community buzzes with activity. But Alaska’s capital city of Juneau is also splendidly isolated: the only way to get here is by boat or plane. That’s perfect for cruise ship travelers, who might otherwise never have a chance to experience this captivating place.
Skagway
The Klondike gold rush brought thousands of prospectors hoping to "strike it rich" to Skagway. Today, you can follow in their footsteps by taking a mesmerizing ride on the historic narrow-gauge White Pass and Yukon Route Railway.
Icy Strait Point
Icy Strait Point is located in the town of Hoonah on Chichagof Island. Icy Strait Point is the only private cruise ship destination in Alaska; we offer over 20 different shore excursions including ATVs, biking, kayaking, nature tours, the best whale watching in Alaska and the world's largest and highest zipline ride.
